[Eyes-On] Sony introduces its first Android 3.0 tablets with the S1 and S2
Look at that! It seems that Sony is going to provide a kick ass experience this autumn with not one, but two amazing Android 3.0 tablets, the S1 and the S2.
While Sony did not give much information on what we will find in either the S1 or the S2, they announced that these new tablets will be powered by the latest Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset and, when available, will come with both Wi-Fi and 3G. The first model; the S1 is your average, yet extremely stylish tablet that comes with a 9.4” screen (1280×800), while the S2, a smaller clamshell device, comes with a pair of 5.5” screens with 1024×480 resolution.
Both models will feature Sony Qrio Video and Audio VoD service as well as being “PlayStation Suite” ready like other Android phones, in order to play PS1 games on the go.
Without giving too many details, Sony announced that major customization is possible on their tablets by providing better SNS integration as well as bringing “AV” components to their slates with the capability to control and access media stored on other Sony devices connected to your network.
Anyway, these S1 and S2 will be available later this year ready for Xmas and Sony assured use that we will soon know more about these two impressive tablets!
